Stand and Deliver! 15th Feb 2015- 15th march 2015
Kings HEad theatre, Islington
Stand and Deliver is an musical featuring a collection of hits from the 80s that follows the story of Frank Goldenboy and this family travel back to the 1700's using the power of a time travelling football fanzine to fulfil his life long dream of becoming a highwayman. All this while the action is being recorded and broadcast by two football commentators.
Featuring hits such as Echo Beach, Turn Back Time, The Final Countdown and Stand and Deliver, this show is full of fun, laughter, dance and innuendo.
Rob's part in the show was Frank Goldenboy's son, the not so smart Antwerp, who discovers how to make them travel back in time using the magical fanzine "Naughty Sport". Antwerp is born and bred in North London and has a big passion for music (and new trainers). He's your typical adolescent
Stand and Deliver was performed in The Kings Head theatre in Islington from the 15th February to the 15th of March performing on Sundays only. Five weeks and 10 shows! It received very positive reviews, included one from West End Wilma, which can be found on the links below.
Stand and Deliver was created by Wayne Gumble. Wayne wrote the musical 2 and a half years after learning he had Parkinson's disease. He found that having a project like this kept him motivated. For more information follow the link below to a article with Wayne about his condition.
